Carbon farming APP Moerdijk – APP receives carbon certificates

Moerdijk, 26 February 2025 – APP has received carbon certificates at one of the participating farms as part of the ‘carbon farming’ project initiated by Port of Moerdijk. In this project, local farmers store additional CO₂ in their soil through sustainable land management practices. For their efforts, they receive certificates that can be purchased by companies in the port and industrial area. The initiative is a collaboration between Port of Moerdijk, the city of Moerdijk, ZLTO and the participating farmers. By purchasing certificates, APP not only supports local agriculture but also makes a tangible contribution to regional sustainability and CO₂ reduction. This cooperation between agriculture and industry is in line with APP’s climate ambitions and highlights the company’s commitment to contributing to a sustainable future in and around Moerdijk.
